Tips for a Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time for friends and family to come together to spend time with each other, give thanks, watch  sports and eat!  But you can enjoy the holidays and dinner without feeling too guilty. Here are some tips for a happy, healthy Thanksgiving!

Tip 1.  Make half your plate vegetables.  For an easy-to-make tasty vegetable side dish, check out the video toward the bottom of the page from Dietitian Kimberly Zisman.

Tip 2.  Eat a nutritious breakfast like an omelet or oatmeal.  This will increase your metabolism during the day to help avoid the midday snooze.

Tip 3. Drink water throughout the day. This will help you from overeating.

Tip 4. Move after your meal. Take a family walk or ride your bike.

Tip 5. Take a break from screen time and connect with family.
